Tying instructions
Secure the hook in the vise.
Wrap thread from the hook eye backwards to cover the hook shank, going slightly beyond the hook point.
Select two pieces of white Chinese saddle hackle, marry them together, and tie them in on both sides of the hook as a tail. The tips should extend one shank length beyond the bend.
Cut the saddle hackle before the quill gets too thick.
Add red tinsel Flashabou by wrapping it around the thread and pulling it to the top of the hook shank. Tie it back to secure. Trim the flash to be shorter than the tail.
Tie in a section of white deer belly hair above the hook eye.
Tie in a section of red deer belly hair above the white deer belly hair.
Tie in another section of white deer belly hair above the red deer belly hair.
Sweep the deer hair back and tie it in place with a reverse tie for bulk.
Trim the deer hair to shape the head.
