Tying instructions
Place a silver 2.8mm slotted tungsten bead on the hook.
Wrap .01 lead wire behind the bead with 6-8 wraps to secure the bead.
Start thread behind the lead wire wraps and build a thread taper down the hook shank.
Select 3-5 purple pheasant tail fibers and tie in for the tail, extending one shank-length.
Tie in small silver ultra wire on the far side of the hook shank.
Build up the thread body to create a smooth taper.
Counter-wrap the silver ultra wire forward with open spiral wraps to just behind the bead and secure.
Tie in a piece of Veevus Tactical Microflash (red holographic tinsel) for the hot spot.
Dub a bulbous thorax with Fulling Mill Krystal Flash Dubbing in UV purple.
Tie in purple krystal flash for the legs on one side, then bring it to the other side and tie it in.
Fold the red holographic tinsel forward and tie it off.
Whip finish with 3-4 turns, seat the knot, and clip the thread.
Apply a drop of Solarez Bone Dry over the tinsel and thread wraps.
Pull the legs back and trim them to just a touch longer than the body.
