Tying instructions
Attach thread just back of the eye and run down the shank to the bend.
Tie in a sparse tail of scarlet dyed hackle barbs.
Strip away a little of the plastic chenille to minimize tie-in bulk.
Tie in the plastic chenille at the bend and return the thread to shortly behind the eye.
Wrap a sparse body with the plastic chenille and tie off.
Tie in a scarlet hen hackle with one side stripped away to keep it extra sparse.
Wrap the hackle 3 turns and trap the tip.
Angle the hackle back slightly and tie in front.
Pull the hackle off to the side a little to make a platform for the wing.
Tie in a sparse mallard flank feather wing, level with the bend of the hook, keeping it lying low.
Tie in two strands of fluorescent shrimp pink Krystal Flash on top and fold back.
Tie off a neat head with a 3 or 4 turn whip finish.
Trim away the thread and trim the Krystal Flash to be level with the end of the wing.
