Tying instructions

  1. Secure the saltwater hook in the vise.

  2. Attach the lead eyes to the hook shank using figure-eight wraps, positioning them halfway down the shank.

  3. Start the thread behind the lead eyes and build a small thread dam to secure them.

  4. Cut a piece of Techflex Flexo Tube and singe one end to create a hump for the thread to rest against.

  5. Tie in the Flexo Tube at the bend, ensuring the singed end is at the rear.

  6. Wrap the thread forward, pushing the Flexo Tube to flare as you tighten.

  7. Cut a length of Ultra Chenille and singe the ends to prevent fraying.

  8. Thread the chenille through the Flexo Tube using an upholstery needle to form legs. Make sure it is opposite side of the eyes.

  9. Secure the chenille legs with thread wraps and apply UV resin to hold them in place.

  10. Tie in a length of tippet as a ribbing material and wrap it forward to segment the body.

  11. Whip finish, trim the thread, and apply a coat of UV resin over the thread wraps for durability.
