Tying instructions
Slide a gold tungsten bead onto the hook, small hole first. Secure the hook in the vise.
Start thread behind the bead and wrap to the bend.
Optionally, tie in a few pheasant tail fibers at the bend for a short tail.
Tie in fine copper wire at the bend for the rib.
Dub a noodle of hare's ear dubbing onto the thread. Leave it slightly shaggy.
Wrap the dubbed body forward to just behind the bead.
Counter-wrap the copper wire rib forward in 4-5 turns. Tie off and trim.
Select a partridge feather with fibers about 1.5 times the hook gap.
Tie in the partridge by the tip, just behind the bead.
Wrap 1.5-2 turns of soft hackle. Tie off and trim.
Whip finish behind the bead and apply head cement.
