Tying instructions

  1. Secure the hook in the vise.

  2. Start the thread behind the eye and wrap to the bend.

  3. Select two micro fibbets for the tail.

  4. Tie in the micro fibbets, making the tail a little longer than the body.

  5. Split the tail by winding the thread between the fibers.

  6. Tie in a turkey biot with the notch facing down.

  7. Wrap the biot forward to create the body.

  8. Tie off the biot and trim the excess.

  9. Tie in spanflex for the wings.

  10. Make a decent size loop.

  11. Tie in the spanflex with loose wraps.

  12. Pull the hackle forward and tighten the thread.

  13. Trim the spanflex, allowing it to suck back down.

  14. Dub a small amount of ultra dry yarn onto the thread.

  15. Wrap the dubbing to create a small thorax.

  16. Whip finish.

  17. Trim the fly to shape.
