Tying instructions

  1. Place the hook in the vise.

  2. Create a thread base extending along the rear 2/3 of the shank.

  3. Tie in a clump of Tan Craft fur extending from the hook bend.

  4. Create a barred pattern along the length of the tail with a copic marker or sharpie.

  5. Tie in flash over craft fur. Flash fibers should extend to end of tail.

  7. Wrap thread forward and repeat with Tan or Natural rabbit fur.

  8. Trim a clump of Gray or Natural Deer Body Hair & position along the top of the hook shank with tips extending back over the rabbit fur collar.

  9. Secure with two loose wraps of thread. Then pull taut.

  10. Pack deer hair back & reposition thread immediately in front of packed deer hair.

  11. Repeat steps 7 through 9 until hair and thread are immediately behind the hook eye.

  12. Trim head to desired shape with a double-sided razor or scissors to complete.

  13. Whip finish and trim thread.
