Tying instructions
Secure hook in vise and start thread behind the eye.
Tie in a small amount of Zelon at the bend for the tail.
Trim the Zelon tail to the desired length.
Select a few pheasant tail barbules.
Tie in the pheasant tail barbules at the bend, tips first, to form a tail.
Wrap thread forward to form a tapered abdomen.
Rib the abdomen with thread.
Form a small dubbing noodle with Hare's Ear Ice Dubbing.
Build up the thorax with the dubbing noodle, then back off slightly.
Grab additional Zelon.
Fold the Zelon over to create a wing.
Breathe on your fingers to fluff up the Zelon wing.
Tie in the Zelon wing.
Finish the fly, trim off any excess material, and add a bit more Hare's Ear Ice Dubbing to cover the thread.
Form a small head.
Throw a single whip finish and snip the thread free.
Clean up the wing and trim it to size.
