Tying instructions
Secure hook in vise and apply a thin thread base, not covering the entire hook shank.
Apply a small amount of super glue to the thread base.
Tie in faux pearl eyes with figure-eight wraps behind the hook eye.
Cut a clump of black craft fur, approximately two times the hook length.
Pinch and rip the end of the craft fur clump to reduce bulk.
Tie in the craft fur tail at the bend, with the tail extending 1.5-2 times the hook shank length.
Pull out the underhair from the remaining craft fur and use it as dubbing.
Dub the underhair forward to create a tapered body, figure-eighting around the eyes.
Cut another clump of black craft fur for the wing.
Flip the fly over in the vise.
Tie in the craft fur wing on top of the hook shank, extending past the tail.
Trim the wing to the desired length using a razor blade.
Cut a section of barred red and black rubber legs in half.
Tie in one section of rubber legs on each side of the hook shank, creating a wing.
Apply UV resin between the eyes.
Cure the UV resin with a UV light.
Trim the rubber legs and tail to the desired length.
