Tying instructions

  1. Secure the hook in the vise.

  2. Attach the tan thread near the eye of the hook and wrap down the shank to the bend.

  3. Tie in the doubled and twisted brown thread for the rib at the bend.

  4. Dub the abdomen with tan Argentinean hare dubbing, creating a standard noodle. Tease out the dubbing slightly.

  5. Wrap the dubbed abdomen forward to the 2/3 point on the hook shank.

  6. Counter-wrap the rib forward in a spiral to the 2/3 point and tie off. Trim the excess.

  7. Dub the thorax with dark olive Argentinean hare dubbing.

  8. Spiral the dubbing forward to just behind the eye.

  9. Select a clump of natural deer hair for the wing.

  10. Even the tips of the deer hair in a hair stacker.

  11. Tie in the deer hair wing at the 1/3 point, with the tips extending over the eye.

  12. Trim the butt ends of the deer hair at an angle.

  13. Whip finish below the head.

  14. Trim the thread.
