Tying instructions

  1. Secure the hook in the vise.

  2. Lay down a thread base from behind the eye to just behind the hook point.

  3. Tie in the pearl diamond braid at the hook point.

  4. Wrap the braid forward to just behind the eye, covering the hook shank.

  5. Tie off the braid and trim the excess.

  6. Tie in a generous amount of white bucktail (about a pencil's width) on the underside of the hook shank, about 3 inches long.

  7. Remove the shorter hairs from the bucktail.

  8. Tie in a few strands of magnum flashabou on top of the white bucktail, folding it over and securing it.

  9. Tie in a small amount of pink bucktail on top of the flashabou.

  10. Tie in a small amount of olive bucktail on top of the pink bucktail.

  11. Whip finish the thread.

  12. Apply a very light amount of super glue to the thread wraps.

  13. Attach the stick-on eyes to the front of the fly.

  14. Apply a generous amount of thick UV resin to the body, extending past the bend of the hook.

  15. Use a bodkin to spread the resin evenly.

  16. Apply a light coat of thin UV resin to fill any gaps.

  17. Cure the UV resin with a UV light for 7-8 seconds on each side, moving the light to prevent overheating.

  18. Place the fly in the sun to fully cure.
