Tying instructions
Secure the curved emerger hook in the vise. Start olive thread behind the eye.
Wrap thread to the bend (the hook curves downward, simulating a hatching nymph).
Dub a thin, tapered abdomen of olive Superfine dubbing from the bend to the midpoint of the shank.
Tie in a post of white or light dun poly yarn at the midpoint. Stand it upright with thread wraps at the base.
Tie in a dark dun hackle feather at the base of the post.
Dub a fuller thorax of dark olive dubbing around and forward of the post to behind the eye.
Wrap the hackle parachute-style around the post, 4-5 turns, working downward. Tie off behind the eye.
Build a small thread head. Whip finish and apply head cement to the thread head and post base.
