Tying instructions

  1. Place hook in vise and create a thread base extending along the front 1/3 of the shank.

  2. Tie in lead dumbbell eyes on top of the shank and extend the thread base to the bend.

  3. Place a Zonker Strip (fur down) along the top of the shank and secure with thread, ensuring it extends 1-1.5x shank length beyond the bend.

  4. Tie in 6-12 strands of Krystal Flash at the bend, extending just beyond the tip of the Zonker strip.

  5. Tie in Ice Chenille at the base of the tail and wrap thread forward to the rear of the lead eyes.

  6. Wrap chenille forward to the rear of the lead eyes, secure with thread, and trim excess.

  7. Wrap thread forward of lead eyes and rotate vise.

  8. Bend a 3-4" strip of monofilament at midpoint and tie in along opposite sides of the shank.

  9. Trim excess monofilament below tie-in point to create a split weed guard.

  10. Whip finish and apply UV resin to secure the head.
