Tying instructions
Start with the rear hook (Gamakatsu B10S, size 4). Secure in the vise.
Start thread and tie in a full clump of orange marabou at the bend for the tail.
Add 6-8 strands of gold Flashabou along each side.
Tie in orange Estaz or chenille at the bend. Wrap forward to behind the eye. Tie off.
Tie in an orange schlappen feather. Wrap 2-3 turns as a collar. Tie off.
Whip finish the rear section and apply head cement.
Thread a 25mm articulated shank onto Beadalon wire through the rear hook eye. Secure the shank in the vise.
Attach thread on the shank. Tie in dumbbell eyes on the underside of the shank, near the front.
Tie in another clump of orange marabou behind the eyes.
Add Flashabou on each side. Tie in Estaz and wrap the body forward to the eyes.
Wrap orange schlappen as a collar behind and in front of the eyes.
Whip finish at the front of the shank. Apply head cement. The fly should swim hook-point up.
