Tying instructions
Place the hook in the vise.
Start the thread at the rear 2/3 of the hook shank and create a thread base.
Tie in a clump of fluff from the base of a red hackle feather at the bend.
Tie in 2-4 strands of Gold Flashabou at the bend and wrap the thread to the front of the thread base.
Wrap the flashabou forward to the thread, secure, and trim the excess.
Optionally, coat the flashabou in a thin layer of UV resin to extend the fly's durability.
Tie in a Black Marabou wing at the front edge of the flashabou body, ensuring the tips extend just beyond the tail.
Trim a clump of Black Deer Body Hair and position it along the top of the shank.
Secure the deer hair with two loose wraps of thread, then pull taut.
Pack the deer hair back and wrap the thread immediately in front of the hair.
Repeat steps 8 through 10 until the hair and thread reach the rear of the hook eye.
Whip finish, clip the thread, and apply flex seal.
Trim the deer hair to the desired shape with a double-sided razor or scissors to complete.
