Tying instructions
Secure hook in vise.
Wrap lead wire around the center of the hook shank in a dozen turns.
Form a thread dam in front of and behind the lead wire.
Tie in fox squirrel tail on top of the hook shank, slightly shorter than the shank.
Tie in the gold tinsel rib on the near side of the hook.
Dub red fox squirrel abdomen dubbing onto the thread and wrap it two-thirds of the way up the hook shank.
Make open spiral turns with the gold tinsel rib up to the tie-in point.
Tie in the partridge feather by the tip, pulling away the fuzzy material.
Wrap the partridge feather around the hook shank one and a half to two times, preening the fibers back.
Build up a prominent orange head with the thread.
Whip finish and apply head cement.
