Tying instructions

  1. Slide the silver tungsten bead onto the jig hook and secure the hook in the vise with the bead positioned at the hook eye.

  2. Start the black Veevus 16/0 thread behind the bead and wrap it in smooth, even turns to the bend of the hook.

  3. Select 3-4 Coq de Leon fibers and tie them in at the bend using pinch wraps, ensuring the tail extends one shank-length beyond the bend.

  4. Tie in the clear Hareline Micro Tubing at the same tie-in point as the tail, securing it with firm wraps.

  5. Tie in the Semperfli Iridescent Blue Perdigon Body tinsel at the tail tie-in point, ensuring it is positioned on top of the hook shank.

  6. Wrap the iridescent blue tinsel forward in touching turns, creating a smooth body, and secure it just behind the bead with several tight wraps.

  7. Trim the excess tinsel close to the tie-off point to keep the body smooth.

  8. Wrap the clear micro tubing forward in 3-4 evenly spaced turns over the tinsel body and secure it just behind the bead.

  9. Trim the excess micro tubing close to the tie-off point.

  10. Perform a whip finish with the thread behind the bead to secure all materials and trim the thread.

  11. Apply a small drop of black UV resin to the top of the fly, forming a wingcase, and cure it with a UV light.

  12. Coat the entire body with a thin layer of clear UV resin to enhance durability and shine, then cure thoroughly with a UV light.
