Tying instructions

  1. Secure the hook in the vise.

  2. Slide the brass cone onto the hook.

  3. Wrap the .025 lead-free wire around the hook shank, creating a weighted underbody. Make approximately 15 wraps, then return over itself 2-3 times. Wiggle the wire to break it off.

  4. Push the wire up to the front of the hook.

  5. Start the thread behind the lead underbody.

  6. Tie in a clump of brown marabou for the tail. Trim the excess.

  7. Tie in the copper olive UV polar chenille.

  8. Tie in a fiery brown schlappen feather by the tip.

  9. Tie in a black schlappen feather by the tip.

  10. Wrap the polar chenille forward to create the body. Tie off and trim the excess.

  11. Using gator grips, twist the schlappen feathers together.

  12. Wrap the twisted schlappen forward to create the body. Tie off and trim the excess.

  13. Dub brown Bruiser Blend Jr. onto the thread.

  14. Wrap the dubbing to create a collar behind the cone. Tie off and trim the excess.

  15. Apply head cement to the thread wraps.

  16. Cure the head cement with a UV light.
