Select 4-5 peacock herls and tie in at the bend.
Wrap the peacock herl body forward to the 2/3 point. Tie off and trim.
Select a brown hen hackle feather. Tie in ahead of the body.
Wrap 2-3 turns of hackle. Tie off and trim. Stroke fibers rearward.
Select a bunch of gray squirrel tail hair. Clean and stack the fibers.
Tie in the hair over the body as a wing, extending to the tail tip. Trim butts.

Tie off, whip finish, and apply head cement.
