Tying instructions
Secure the emerger hook in the vise. Start pale yellow thread behind the eye.
Wrap thread to the bend of the hook.
Tie in a sparse tuft of brown Z-Lon at the bend for the trailing shuck. Trim to 2/3 body length.
Tie in a turkey biot at the bend, or dub a thin abdomen of PMD Superfine dubbing.
If using a biot, wrap it forward to the midpoint with a slight edge showing for segmentation. Tie off.
Select a light dun CDC puff feather. Tie in at the midpoint with tips extending upward and slightly forward.
Tie in a few brown hackle fibers on each side as sparse legs.
Dub the thorax with PMD Superfine dubbing, slightly fuller than the abdomen.
Wrap the thorax forward to the eye, covering the CDC and leg tie-in points.
Build a small thread head. Whip finish and apply head cement.
