Tying instructions
Slide bead onto hook and secure hook in vise.
Start thread behind the bead and wrap down the shank, filling the slot in the bead.
Wrap thread to just shy of the hook's midpoint.
Tie in lead wire and wrap 4 times up the shank to the bead.
Tie in bronze mallard fibers for the tail, with length equal to the body of the fly.
Tie in copper wire ribbing.
Tie in pearl tinsel flashback.
Dub Hare's Ear dubbing onto the thread to create a linear mat.
Pinch and twist the dubbing down the thread.
Wrap the dubbed thread forward to create a tapered body, stopping behind the bead.
Select CDC feather and remove the fuzzy fibers from the base.
Tie in the CDC feather by the tips behind the bead, with the feather curving back over the body.
Pull the CDC fibers back and wrap thread over the base to secure.
Counter-wrap the copper wire ribbing forward in 3-4 evenly spaced turns, securing at the bead.
Trim the copper wire.
Pull the CDC fibers back and secure with a few wraps of thread.
Tie off the thread with a whip finish.
Apply UV resin to the head and cure with a UV light.
