Tying instructions
Attach thread behind the eye and run it down in touching turns to almost where the hook point is.
Tie in a strand of opal Flashabou at the tie-in point.
Wrap the Flashabou forward in touching turns, creating a flat abdomen well into the bend.
Tie off the Flashabou at the tie-in point and trim the excess.
Tie in a CDC feather by the tip at the tie-in point.
Clip on hackle pliers to the stem of the CDC feather and start to wrap forward.
Stroke the CDC barbs to the back with each successive turn.
Trap the stem and tie off with thread.
Trim the excess stem.
Take a small bunch of deer hair and clip off the butt ends.
Remove the underfur.
Line up the tips in a hair stacker and even them.
Tie in the deer hair with the cut ends lined up with the front of the hook eye, using 1.5-2 turns of thread.
Make a third turn that cuts through the hair at about 45 degrees.
Make a fourth turn that goes over the eye but under the butts.
Perform a three-turn whip finish.
Tighten and trim the thread.
