Tying instructions
Secure the dry fly hook in the vise.
Start the grey thread one eye-width behind the hook eye and wrap rearward to the 2/3 mark on the shank.
Select two grizzly hackle tips and tie them in at the 2/3 mark with tips extending to the hook bend for the wings, ensuring they splay outward. Secure with 3 tight wraps and trim excess.
Tie in a small bunch of brown and grizzly hackle fibers at the bend for the tail, measuring one hook shank in length. Secure with 3 tight wraps and trim excess.
Dub a thin noodle of Adam’s Grey Fine & Dry Dubbing onto the thread and wrap forward to the wing tie-in point to form a tapered body.
Select a brown and a grizzly dry fly hackle, and tie them in at the base of the wings.
Wrap both hackles forward in touching turns to just behind the eye, making 4-5 wraps. Tie off with 3 tight wraps and trim excess.
Build a small, neat thread head, whip finish, and trim thread.
Apply a small drop of head cement to the thread head for durability.
