Tying instructions
Start fly by pulling 12 to 18 inches of silk from the bobbin, running the silk along the wax block 2-3 times, then rewind the waxed silk onto the spool
Start the silk about 1 eye length behind the hook eye
Wrap the silk in an even layer to right where the hook begins to bend
Apply a minimal amount of hares mask dubbing to the silk, you want the silk to be the predominant color with the hares mask adding a slight ‘fuzziness’
Wrap in neat touching spirals to just behind where the silk was started, forming a slim consistent body
Tie in the woodcock feather by the tip, palmer forward with only one or two turns and tie off
Tie in the peacock sword barb, and palmer forward one or two turns and tie off.
Whip finish with as few turns as possible, and trim
