Tying instructions
Secure the streamer hook in the vise.
Start the thread at the eye and create a thread base extending the length of the hook shank.
Tie in a tuft of chartreuse marabou at the bend, extending one hook length beyond the bend. Wrap thread forward over marabou to the eye and trim excess.
Winding the thread back to the bend, tie in 6 to 12 strands of pearl Krystal Flash with tips extending just beyond the marabou.
Select a similarly sized tuft of brown marabou and tie in over the flash. Fibers should be equal in length to the chartreuse marabou. Wrap forward to the eye and trim excess.
Whip finish and clip the thread.
Cut a symmetrical piece of craft foam with edges equal to the hook length and a width 1-1.5 times this length. Shape ends to preference.
Apply a small amount of super glue to each side of the thread base. Use a bobbin or pin to spread evenly.
Fold the craft foam in half and press edges down along opposite sides of the hook until the super glue has set.
If necessary, even the bottom edges of the foam with a razor blade or scissors.
Darken the back with a Copic Marker. Add eye spots if not adding eyes separately.
Coat with UV resin to finish for added durability.
