Tying instructions

  1. Start thread two eye-lengths behind the hook eye.

  2. Form a small ball of thread to prevent the eyes from sliding forward.

  3. Tie in lead eyes using figure-8 wraps and wraps around the bottom of the hook shank.

  4. Apply Zap-A-Gap to further reinforce the eyes.

  5. Wrap thread back to the start of the hook bend.

  6. Tie in olive marabou on top of the hook shank, extending two hook-lengths beyond the bend.

  7. Tie in ginger marabou on top of the hook shank, extending two hook-lengths beyond the bend.

  8. Tie in two pieces of lateral scale on either side of the marabou, extending two hook-lengths beyond the bend.

  9. Trim the lateral scale to the same length as the marabou.

  10. Tie in 6X tippet material on the near side of the hook shank, wrapping back to the tail.

  11. Secure the tippet material in a material holder.

  12. Tie in the chenille at the base of the tail.

  13. Wrap the chenille forward to the eye of the hook, ensuring you don't trap the tail material.

  14. Cut off excess chenille.

  15. Tie in a badger olive hackle at the eye of the hook.

  16. Wrap the hackle back to the base of the tail in open spiral turns.

  17. Capture the hackle with the tippet material.

  18. Wrap the tippet material through the hackle to secure it.

  19. Cut off excess tippet material.

  20. Form a dubbing loop at the eye of the hook.

  21. Insert Senyo's Laser Dub into the dubbing loop.

  22. Spin the dubbing loop to create a dubbing brush.

  23. Pick out the dubbing brush with velcro.

  24. Wrap the dubbing brush behind and over the eyes.

  25. Whip finish and cut thread.

  26. Apply head cement to the head of the fly.

  27. Clean out the hook eye.
