Tying instructions
Secure the hook in the vise. Start green thread behind the eye and wrap to the bend.
Cut a 3-inch piece of bright green medium Vernille (Ultra Chenille).
Use a lighter to carefully melt and round one end of the Vernille.
Tie in the Vernille at the bend of the hook with the melted end extending about 1/4 inch past the bend.
Optionally tie in fine green wire for a rib at the bend.
Wrap the Vernille forward in touching turns to just behind the eye. Tie off and trim.
If using wire, spiral-wrap the rib forward. Tie off and trim.
Cut the front end of the Vernille, leaving a small nub extending past the eye. Melt to seal.
Whip finish and apply head cement to the thread wraps.
