Tying instructions
Secure the hook in the vise. Start thread behind the eye and wrap to the bend.
Dub a full ball of Superfine dubbing at the rear of the shank for the abdomen. It should be round and prominent.
Advance the thread to the midpoint, leaving a thin waist between abdomen and thorax.
Select two light dun hen hackle tips or a tuft of white poly yarn. Tie in at the midpoint for spent wings, extending to each side.
Tie in a small hackle feather at the waist area.
Wrap 2-3 turns of hackle. Tie off and trim.
Dub a second, slightly smaller ball of dubbing for the thorax/head area.
Build a small thread head between the thorax and the eye. Whip finish and apply head cement.
