Tying instructions
Secure the hook in the vise.
Slide the bead onto the hook.
Start the thread behind the bead.
Wrap the thread down the hook shank to the bend.
Select three or four Coq De Leon fibers for the tail.
Measure the tail to the length of the hook shank.
Tie in the tail fibers with a pinch wrap.
Wrap the thread back up the hook shank to behind the bead.
Tie in the silver wire on the near side of the hook.
Wrap the thread back down the hook shank to the bend.
Slightly taper the body of the fly with the thread.
Wrap the silver wire forward in even segments to create the body.
Tie off the wire behind the bead and helicopter off the excess.
Trim the tail fibers short.
Apply a small dot of black nail polish to the slot where the bead and body meet to imitate a wing case.
Apply a thin coat of clear UV resin to the body.
Cure the UV resin with a UV light.
