Tying instructions
Step 1: Place the hook in the vise and start the thread about halfway down the hook shank.
Step 2: Wrap the thread rearward to just above the hook bend.
Step 3: Tie in a small bunch of brown and grizzly hackle fibers at the bend for the tail, approximately the length of the hook shank.
Step 4: Advance the thread to the 60% mark and tie in a 1/4 strand of white poly yarn for the wing post, ensuring it stands upright.
Step 5: Dub a thin noodle of Adams gray Superfine dubbing onto the thread.
Step 6: Wrap the dubbing forward to form a tapered body, stopping at the wing post.
Step 7: Tie in a brown and furnace hackle at the base of the wing post.
Step 8: Wrap the hackle around the wing post in a parachute style, making 4-5 turns.
Step 9: Secure the hackle with 3 tight wraps and trim any excess.
Step 10: Form a small head with the tying thread just behind the hook eye.
Step 11: Whip finish, trim the thread, and apply head cement to secure.
