Tying instructions

  1. Slide the bead onto the hook and secure the hook in the vise.

  2. Start the dark brown thread behind the bead and wrap to the bend of the hook.

  3. Tie in a small bunch of brown soft hackle fibers at the bend, extending one shank-length.

  4. Tie in the x-small copper wire at the tie-in point of the tail and wrap forward to behind the bead.

  5. Wrap the copper wire forward to behind the bead with evenly spaced turns to create the rib. Tie off and break off excess.

  6. Tie off the dark brown thread and cut.

  7. Start the fluorescent shell pink thread behind the bead.

  8. Tie in a piece of small pearl tinsel on top of the hook shank, extending to the rear.

  9. Tie in approximately 20 strands of brown fluoro fibre on top of the hook shank, extending to the rear.

  10. Fold the brown fluoro fibre forward over the hook shank and tie down behind the bead.

  11. Dub the UV fluorescent hot pink ice dubbing onto the thread and dub a thorax behind the bead.

  12. Pull the pearl tinsel forward over the dubbed thorax to create the wingcase and tie off behind the bead. Trim the excess.

  13. Whip finish with the fluorescent shell pink thread behind the bead and cut.

  14. Apply a small amount of UV resin to the top of the bead and cure with a UV light.

  15. Trim the legs to the desired length.

  16. Pick out any excess dubbing from the bottom of the fly.
