Tying instructions
Secure the dry fly hook in the vise.
Start the thread at the eye of the hook and wrap a thread base extending to the bend. Trim the thread tag.
Tie in a section of micro chenille at the bend, extending approximately one shank length beyond the bend. Burn the tip of the chenille with a lighter to prevent fraying.
Tie in a strip of 2mm foam, approximately one hook gap in width, at the bend.
Tie in a clump of CDC fibers on each side of the foam, ensuring the tips do not extend beyond the chenille.
Create a dubbing loop and dub the hook shank with black dry fly dubbing up to the rear of the hook eye.
Pull the foam forward over the dubbed shank and secure it at the rear of the hook eye.
Trim the foam ahead of the tie-down point.
Whip finish, trim the thread, and apply head cement or flex seal to complete the fly.
