Tying instructions
Secure the hook in the vise. Start thread behind the eye and wrap to the bend.
Optionally, tie in a few hare's mask guard hairs at the bend for a short tail.
Tie in a length of fine gold wire at the bend for the rib.
Dub a shaggy noodle of hare's ear dubbing onto the thread.
Wrap the dubbed body forward to the 1/3 point behind the eye, leaving it slightly rough and buggy.
Counter-wrap the gold wire rib forward in 4-5 even turns. Tie off and helicopter the wire to break it.
Select a partridge feather with fibers about 1.5 times the hook gap.
Tie in the partridge by the tip. Wrap 1.5-2 turns of soft hackle. Tie off and trim.
Stroke the fibers rearward. Build a small thread head.
Whip finish and apply head cement.
