Tying instructions

  1. Secure the hook in the vise.

  2. Start the thread about 75% of the way back from the eye.

  3. Wrap the thread back to just past the barb.

  4. Tie in the copper wire on the side of the hook.

  5. Wrap the thread back to the tie-in point.

  6. Select a few CDL fibers and tie them in for the tail, about half the length of the body.

  7. Wrap the thread forward to create a slight carrot shape.

  8. Apply a small drop of Hydro Clear Cure Goo to the body and cure with a UV light.

  9. Counter-wrap the copper wire forward to create the ribbing.

  10. Helicopter off the excess wire.

  11. Tie in the Veevus Iris thread.

  12. Dub the thorax with SuperFine Dubbing.

  13. Pull the Veevus Iris thread over the top to create the legs.

  14. Tie in the Hairline Flashback for the wingcase.

  15. Pull the wingcase over the top and tie it off.

  16. Whip finish with the red thread to create a red head.

  17. Trim the legs to just past the wingcase.
