Tying instructions
Apply a few wraps of thread behind the eye of the hook and trim the tag.
Continue wraps to the bend of the hook, creating an even thread base.
Dub a thick, tapered abdomen along the curved portion of the shank.
Knot two clumps of pheasant tail fibers at 60-90 degree angles and secure at the front of the abdomen.
Tie in a saddle hackle and dub the thorax.
Wrap the hackle forward over the thorax dubbing, secure with thread, and trim the excess.
Cut a thin strip of craft foam and tie it in behind the eye of the hook.
Pull the foam strip back and secure at the base of the thorax.
Trim the wing to a point and whip finish.
