Tying instructions
Secure the hook in the vise. Start black thread behind the eye and wrap to the bend.
Optionally, tie in a small tag of fine gold tinsel at the bend.
Select a brown hackle feather, strip the lower fibers, and tie in at the bend.
Wrap the brown hackle 3-4 turns forward. Tie off and trim the excess.
Select 3-4 peacock herls and tie in just ahead of the brown hackle.
Twist the herls together with the thread to form a reinforced rope.
Wrap the herl rope forward to the 1/4 point behind the eye, creating a full body. Tie off and trim.
Select a white hackle feather, strip the lower fibers, and tie in just ahead of the body.
Wrap the white hackle 3-4 turns forward. Tie off and trim.
Build a neat thread head. Whip finish and apply head cement.
