Tying instructions
Build a thread base extending to the top of the bend.
Attach post material from the bend and wrap thread to form the abdomen's foundation.
Secure the post base with tight thread wraps.
Select an oversized hackle feather and attach it by the butt to the post.
Secure a section of Ultrawire extending from the base of the abdomen.
Dub a thick, tapered abdomen extending to the top of the hook bend.
Wrap wire backward to create segments, then secure and trim excess.
Tie in 2-3 strands of Peacock herl in front of the dubbed abdomen.
Wrap herl forward to the eye, building a substantial thorax, then secure.
Whip finish, flex seal head and rotate hook 90 degrees in the vise.
Reattach thread at the post's base while the hook is repositioned.
Carefully wrap hackle down the post material, secure at base, and trim.
Complete whip finish and apply flex seal to the post's base.
Trim post to desired height to complete.
