Tying instructions
Secure the hook in the vise.
Slide the bead onto the hook.
Start the thread behind the bead and wrap down the hook shank to the bend.
Build a small thread underbody.
Select a small bunch of Coq de Leon fibers.
Pull the fibers straight out from the feather and cut them.
Pinch the fibers and tie them in as a tail, about the length of the hook shank.
Wrap the thread forward over the tail butts to the bead.
Dub the thread with a sparse amount of Rainbow Sow Scud dubbing.
Wrap the dubbing forward to create a tapered body.
Build up a little bit around the head.
Add a little more dubbing to the thread.
Wrap the dubbing down a little bit and then back up to the bead.
Form a small red hot spot behind the bead with the thread.
Whip finish behind the bead.
Clip the thread.
