Tying instructions
Secure the short shank wet fly hook in the vise.
Start the thread at the hook eye and wrap rearward to the bend.
Tie in a few short strands of Krystal Flash at the bend for the tail, extending just beyond the hook bend.
Trim the tail to the desired length.
Tie in a length of small copper wire at the base of the tail.
Dub the thread with Copper Lite Brite or Angel Hair to form a dubbing noodle.
Wrap the dubbed thread forward to form a tapered body, stopping one eye-width behind the eye.
Counter-wrap the copper wire forward in evenly spaced turns over the dubbed body. Tie off and trim the excess wire.
Build a small thread head, whip finish, and trim the thread.
Tease out the copper dubbing slightly for a translucent effect.
Apply a thin coat of varnish to the head for durability.
