Tying instructions
Secure the hook in the vise and start the thread behind the eye.
Tie in XL lead eyes with figure-8 wraps, creating a donut shape of thread around the base of the eyes to prevent spinning.
Move the thread back to the hook bend, covering the shank.
Select two tan saddle hackles and marry the tips together.
Tie in the saddle hackles at the hook point, crossing them at a 45-degree angle to create flaring claws.
Trim the excess saddle hackle.
Tie in a small amount of olive-colored Flashabou on top of the hook shank, splitting it between the saddle hackles.
Trim the Flashabou to be slightly shorter than the saddle hackles.
Pull a finger-width section of Sea Green EP Fibers from the hank.
Wrap the EP Fibers around the thread.
Pull the bobbin tight to the side of the hook shank.
Advance the thread in front of the EP fiber tie-in point.
Repeat steps 10-12, adding a second section of EP Fibers.
Add a third section of EP Fibers, wrapping the material around the hook thread and pulling it tight to the side of the hook shank.
Trim the EP Fibers to create a rounded crab shell shape.
Select three strands of olive and black barred silly legs.
Tie in the silly legs at the hook eye, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
Trim the silly legs to the desired length.
