Tying instructions

  1. Add bead to hook and create a thread base extending to the bend.

  2. Strip the fur from the leading edge of a Zonker strip (approximately 1/4 inch) and secure it along the hook shank at the bend with the fur facing downward.

  3. Trim the tail to 1 inch in length, cutting only the leather strip while allowing the fur to extend beyond that measurement.

  4. Attach a single ostrich herl by its stem at the base of the tail, then wrap thread forward.

  5. Wrap the herl forward and secure it at the rear of the bead, then trim any excess material.

  6. Whip finish and flex seal to complete.
